Javier is a Miami native, and he has been involved in a variety of sports his entire life including football, soccer, baseball and mixed martial arts. He has been passionate about fitness and wellness since the age of 15.

Javier did his undergraduate studies at Florida International University, where he received his bachelors in biological sciences. While in school, Javier explored many options for furthering his academic career. After much thought, his love for motivating and inspiring people to live happier, healthier lives led him to his decision to become a physical therapist. Javier is now a Doctor of Physical Therapy from FIU, and has completed additional work to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. His first clinical rotation was at the Miami Institute for Joint Reconstruction, an Outpatient Orthopedic Center. He has also interned at Doctors Hospital and will be interning next at Mount Sinai and South Florida Rehab and Training. His last internship did not want to lose him as an asset and has hired him as a physical therapist where he works when he is not at Miami Youth Fitness.

"As a movement specialist, I have realized that most of the musculoskeletal disorders individuals face are caused by faulty movement mechanics and poor daily habits. The body has an amazing ability to heal itself; exercise performed with great form, coupled with proper nutrition and good sleeping habits, works wonders in changing how you feel inside and out. Exercise is truly the best medicine, and my goal is to educate and inspire individuals to live healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives through simple and effective fitness and wellness principles."
